Free Manicure and More at Nailaholics on National Pampering Day

I can’t believe it has been a year ever since Nailaholics Nail Salon and Spa launched its very first National Pampering Day!

I was so excited when I heard about it, considering I rarely go to nail salons; that is why you can imagine how I must’ve felt when they brought in the news that they are celebrating their 2nd year!

The National Pampering Day last year was such a big hit as they offered free manicure service and soothing hand massages from 1-AM to 12NN.

This year is so much better though because everyone will be treated to a free service of their choice: calming foot spa, a relaxing foot massage or a lulling manicure.

With Nailaholics’ recent partnership with O.P.I., a leading and well-loved nail lacquer brand in the world, the National Pampering Day will welcome more guests with an extension up to 1PM!

Moreover, this year’s celebration will also support the World Vision, The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), and Save the Philippine Seas.

I took this chance to experience Hand and Foot Paraffin! It was hot at first, but you’ll get used to it in no time!

When I got into their Fisher Mall branch to have some perfect nail-time,I also saw a good friend! Yay! It’s Me-an Clemente of Yogo and Cream! I remember being extra chatty with her during a pampering session last July.

I was also with John that day, and he also had his manly pampering. Who says guys don’t need a mani-pedi? 🙂

Now save the date, October 17, 2017 (Tuesday) from 10AM to 1PM, and head on to any Nailaholics Nail Salon and Spa and go get yourself a free relaxing foot spa, foot massage or manicure!

Your only responsibility tomorrow, is to loosen up and enjoy!

Skin Philosophie by Dr. Kyla Talens

As a millennial Filipina, I suppose you would agree that maintaining good physical image in today’s society is crucial. You have every tool and application at hand that can possibly turn our photos from ordinary to something extra wonderful.

As a blogger, things have changed quite a bit for me. When I was still working, I have this constant notion to keep myself well-groomed at all times to serve as a good example to my trainees. But right now, things had to go up a notch.

For some reason, I never had the time to go to skin clinics, not because I was too busy, but because I thought I was doing okay. I mean, I use a fair number of beauty products, so maybe I was trying enough to take good care of myself, but when I got invited to Skin Philosophie’s event, I realized maybe I should try to consider paying a visit soon.

It’s not really because of vanity, but I guess there can be services that you thought you don’t need but you actually do. For example, eye rejuvenation. I never thought that my simple and random late night activities could cause my eyebags to look really bad.

I am not getting any younger, so investing on my skin and my health should probably be lifted to my top 5 priorities now.

I am so happy that I got to know Skin Philosophie and the brain behind this medical aesthetic and lifestyle solution center.

Dr. Kyla Talens, M.D., DCD, MSc

Dr. Kyla Talens, M.D., DCD, MSc who was celebrating her birthday that day is the CEO and the Chief Aesthetic Dermatologist of Skin Philosophie. Her main interest was aesthetic medicine, specifically skin and laser treatments.

She earned her degree and education from University of the Philippines, Cardiff University in the United Kingdom and Ramathibodi Hospital – Mahidol University, Thailand.

She said that she also incorporates her creative and artistic inclination into her practice. She emphasizes that, “It is of paramount importance for a doctor to have a keen eye for symmetry and proportion so that results look natural after procedures.” And I couldn’t agree more!

I had the best time discovering how Skin Philosophie can help me in my skin problems, which is why I cannot wait to have my own treatment very soon.

Boutique Clinic Concept

The services and facilities are all comfortably placed in a luxurious boutique clinic. I can’t help but admire the casual yet elegant atmosphere. The clinic firmly believes that they want to make their patients feel at ease as they undergo a very positive change in their lives.

Their portfolio of services include, scar repair, age-proofing, age reversing, acne solutions, body contouring with fat reduction, face sculpting, laser treatments, whitening, therapeutic massages, non-surgical procedures, dermal filler injections, face and body art and many more!

Affordable Luxury on Skin Care and Services

The place and location could be a little intimidating, no doubt about that. But the best news is that, while their treatment costs are not exactly that low, they are not abusively high. After all, overly cheap things cannot be trusted.

The smart patients puts premium on the value of money. And it is also important to invest in one’s physical image, but there should be enough left for other finer and more significant things in life. After all, we should always spend wisely.

3 Things Why Foot for the gods is Not Like Your Ordinary Spa

I have been meaning to get a massage ever since I got back from my trip, and I was just too busy to find time! Goodie, I had a free day and took this chance to get my much-needed reflexology! Yay! 🙂

It was my second time at Foot for the gods, and I have always loved how different they are from other spas. They are not your ordinary massage salon, so read more to find out why you need to schedule your appointment today. :)

  1. Unconventional Set-Up

First is, they do not have cubicles. You get to enjoy your well-deserved pampering while having the freedom of talking to your friends. It would also be a perfect date idea, and you can hold hands with your beau while your masseurs are massaging your oh-so-tired feet.

Although, if I may advise to keep your voices at a minimum, since there are also other clients in the room. And you may need a flash when you want to take a selfie, because the whole massage common room is on dim light.

  1. More acupressure, and less kneading

I think it’s the Foot for the gods’ exceptional service that’s why people keep coming back. They have such an effective method in relieving stress and tensed muscles.

I was surprised how exact the pressure application was. Their style leans more on acupressure than kneading, which was very odd for me at first, considering it was a dry massage, but I was totally sold on how I felt after.

I didn’t expect my muscles were too overwrought from all the activities I did the past weeks! Gosh!

  1. Specialty Spa Products

Honestly, I like the opportunity of being able to bring home something that can sustain the service, or for this matter relaxation, that I have experienced from the home establishment.

Foot for the gods’ actually has their own perfume and spa product lines. You can avail Scent by the gods, and Muscle Pain Relief Spray when you ask their staff, which come in really affordable prices!

I highly recommend you try and visit them as soon as possible to experience a whole new meaning on stress relieving. Thank me after my merfriends! 😀

You can visit them at the following branches:

SM Megamall   |   SM Mall of Asia   |   SM South Mall   |   Main Square, Bacoor Cavite

Like them on Facebook

Contact number : (055) 607 2763

Feel like a god or goddess at Foot for the gods, and discover why they are the number 1 in reflexology in the Philippines since 2006!

See you there soon? 😀

Get a Free Body Scrub at Finessa Aesthetica

When I was a kid I often wondered how it was like to be a grown-up lady.

IMG_20170822_150802-01

I suppose “she” never had to endure weird torn up skin appearing just below her nails. She never had to clean her toes after wearing open-toe sandals the whole day.
And she would always smell sweet no matter how intense the sun is.
When it was my turn to finally find out what happens when you’re a lady, I realized it wasn’t totally hearts and flowers after all.
You have to put in an extra effort and invest.
When I was 8, I also remember being fond of watching TV and lying there, curious on why celebrities have this rich, fair and well-nourished skin.
I would be a hypocrite if I tell you I never wanted to be like them, or even have that gorgeous skin. But I’m glad for my parents’ genes because achieving my dream skin felt that it was not so far-fetched as I thought it would be.

IMG_20171004_195038.JPG

I was given a chance to try a few services from Finessa Aesthetica, and I felt more like a princess than a lady.

IMG_20170822_152932.jpg

Together with some of my blogger friends, we took the opportunity to experience how it feels to be pampered and prettified at the same time.

IMG_20170822_162422.jpgIMG_20170822_162527-02

We started with our Whitening Glutathione Drip. It was my first time so I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew is I felt calmer after, and my muscles felt more relaxed.

LIPO LIGHT WRAP

I also tried their Lipo Light Wrap.

I was asked to take a shower and wear this suit while I was inside the lipo light machine.

IMG_20170822_171827.jpgIMG_20170822_172547.jpgIMG_20170822_173848.jpg

Lipo Light Wrap is a service wherein it predisposes your body to sweat by being subjected to some light therapy inside the machine. This is best for people who would want to lose weight, expel toxins and have a better blood circulation.
I fell asleep! Haha 🙂 The whole service is timed for an hour.

IMG_20170822_173915.jpgIMG_20170822_184401.jpg

After Lipo Light Wrap I was supposed to experience Laser Lipo in the tummy area. But since I was advised that it may have a downtime and can elicit a few blisters, I politely declined.
My skin is blister-friendly, so it’s a big no no. Tell your beauty aesthetician if you have this similar condition so they can advise you properly.
However, the day wasn’t even drawing to a close as I thought it would.

IMG_20170822_193714.jpgIMG_20170822_191807.jpg

Minutes later, these diodes were on my tummy area, sending electric currents to my ab muscles.

IMG_20170822_191251.jpgIMG_20170822_191256.jpg

The Ab Sculpt Procedure is probably every gym-allergic person’s bestfriend. If you are too tired or too busy to hit the gym, and would just like to work on the tummy part alone (just like me) this may be a good alternative!

30 minutes of Ab Sculpt is equivalent to around 200 sit-ups! And it doesn’t even cost a fortune!
I had the most amazing time at Finessa Aesthetica! Can you believe all of these services are just in one establishment? 🙂

Wait there’s more!

You can also use my code : FINESSAVIA to get a free bodyscrub when you avail Lipo Light Wrap!
PS.

Now I know what to answer my 8-year-old self-wonders. That looking like a lady, or a princess rather needs work. You have to give time, effort, and invest when you can.
Maintaining an image can and may come with a price. You can opt to avail or not. You always have a choice.
But I’d rather believe that I can always work smart to afford, and not sulk on why the world is just the way it is and complain about why it cannot give me what I want to be happy.

Stay happy and beautiful merfriends! 🙂
Which of these services would you like to try?

11 Things to Know Before You Go to Siem Reap, Cambodia

This year, my friends and I just deliberately booked one-way tickets to Siem Reap, Cambodia. My friend was so inspired to see a wonder of the world, and since Angkor Wat is the nearest to the Philippines among the others, we opted to go and check it out for ourselves.

IMG_20170805_204251.jpg

I got so fascinated with the country, that is why I have compiled some things that may come in handy to guide you as you embark on your much-anticipated Cambodian adventure!

  1. Cambodians accept US Dollars.

I had my Philippine peso money changed in NAIA, and was so surprised I need not exchange them for Cambodian real!

IMG_20171003_192424.JPG

It’s a bit difficult to convert reals to dollars as it will take thousands of reals for only one dollar. So better stash those 1 and 5 dollars with you!

IMG_20170806_123943-01.jpeg

  1. WiFi is not present in most places.

I actually do not have some trouble with this. I like being immersed with the experience first, and maximize what these new places have to offer. You can always upload photos when you are back to your hotel anyway.

IMG_20170807_144008.jpg

  1. Tuktuk is the main mode of transportation.

Unlike ours, they don’t have trains, cabs and jeepneys in Siem Reap. All of these public vehicles are all equated to “tuktuk”. It’s more of like a tricycle. You can find them everywhere, and they are good and sturdy enough as you explore this side of Cambodia.

We found our Tuktuk driver, Toma, through our booked hotel.

  1. Most hotels have swimming pools.

I was so surprised to know that our hotel is only about P700 a night, but I didn’t expect that surprises were supposed to stop there! Turns out, we have a swimming pool!

So if you are planning to go to Siem Reap, please make sure you pack a bikini too! Or a monokini, perhaps! They are a little conservative!

IMG_20170807_132617-01.jpeg

  1. Bring more conservative clothes.

Speaking of “conservative”, I was so worried, that all I packed were just either pants or long skirts, which led me a while in packing because I had to borrow my sister’s skirts. I didn’t bring any shorts. But you can actually wear them during the tour, knowing that it is too hot in Cambodia around August.

IMG_20170807_093513-01.jpeg

But switch them with your long flowy pants and peasant skirts once you go to Angkor Wat. People will advise you to wear longer / below-the-knee bottoms because you are visiting sacred temples. I saw some tourists were wrapping their scarves around their waist as a make-shift to cover their legs. Opt to wear sleeved tops too!

IMG_20170807_072546-01.jpeg

It’s really hot so, tiis-ganda na lang! We have to respect their culture, merfriends! 😉

I suggest you wear colorful clothes, to provide contrast for your photos! Your backgrounds will be detailed but their colors will only be brown and grey. So be sure to not wear these colors on your Angkor Wat visit!

IMG_20170807_121033.jpg

IMG_20170807_133035.jpg

  1. Bring water all the time. It’s terribly hot! And oh, a hat too!

Since umbrellas are prohibited in your hand-carry, make sure you have one in your luggage, if you ever have to check in one. But a hat will also help you bear (not beat, it’s unbeatable!) the heat!

Water is expensive inside Angkor Wat, and you have to literally do the “temple run” if you want to visit as many temples as you want! You can even purchase a 7-day Angkor Wat tour if you want to visit ALL the temples! 😀

Bring a lot of endurance as well! 😀

IMG_20170806_104430.jpg

  1. Vendors can be a little persistent.

We went to Siem Reap Old Market to buy some clothes and trinkets. What I noticed is that they can be a little persistent, but I have to commend that most of them have good salestalk skills.

You can haggle of course, but if they allow the price that you want, it would seem that you have to buy the product. It would be, as I take it, rude, if you proposed a price lesser than their market value, to which they agreed, and decided not to push through with the sale.

So if you don’t have plans on buying a certain product, try not to ask and have them get it for you, especially if the product needs some extra effort to retrieve (like if they are hung on the walls or located somewhere else).  If you have to decline, just be firm and polite, and smile! 😀

IMG_20170807_070053-01.jpeg

Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia

  1. The Killing Field will crush your heart.

Toma, our Cambodian Tuktuk driver took us to a place called the “Killing Field”.  In this place you are to be enlightened about the history of the country, and how it rose from the ashes during their past government.

I felt a sudden shudder of compassion and sorrow just by thinking how many people had to die, even though it wasn’t their time yet. I guess apart from every person’s battle, there are also life situations in different places around the world that predispose you to a battle you never thought you had to endure and survive. Let alone, you had to prepare for.

In respect for this, I reserved the chance not to take photos.

IMG_20170807_065805.jpg

  1. There are less Filipino travellers.

I was a bit homesick when I was there. I didn’t hear any Tagalog-speaking tourists as much as I did when I was in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.

I think I only heard 3 Pinoys in the entire trip in Cambodia.

IMG_20170806_160036.jpg

  1. Cambodians recognize easily if you are a Filipino.

We Pinoys actually look like either Cambodian, Vietnamese or Thai. But the locals tend to recognize us here through our accents, and our happy and smiling vibe.

I asked them how did they knew we were Filipinos, and these were their feedback. I was very flattered! Hehe 😀

Manny Pacquiao sure is popular, but Vice Ganda is also a  favourite!

When they knew that I was a Filipina, I was often asked if I know Manny Pacquaio. But what was funny is that the questions were followed if I know Vice Ganda! They were chanting Pak Ganern as well! 😀

IMG_20170806_143117.jpg

  1. Kid vendors in Angkor Wat accept Philippine Peso!

Dibaaaa? Why? But I’m not complaining! Hehe 😀

It is a good option especially if you ran out of US dollars. The kids were very persistent too! They were willing to give more discounts, but I’m not sure if this is only selective for Pinoys.

There are so many things to experience in Siem Reap, you just have to stretch an open heart to accept their culture, and be relative in understanding what this country is going through, and what they have to do to bring peace and achieve progress.

IMG_20170806_130631.jpg

PS.

If you are going through something, it would be nice to go here and find your inner peace. Promise, they are the calmest people I’ve ever met!

I hope you like this post! Share your thoughts in the comments! 😀

Angel Skin Face and Body Lightening Bars

I remember way back in elementary school, we were asked to draw what we think is the most important part of our bodies, and explain why we chose it/them.

I was quick to write and draw the “skin”.

I reasoned because it was the biggest organ of our bodies, and they cover all the internal parts that need to be hidden. It also shows direct signals if there is something wrong with our health. Like when the skin is dry, we are alerted that the body is thirsty, and we need to hydrate more.

Since life can be too challenging, and our responsibilities too demanding, our skin tends to show signs of trouble, like uneven skin tone, wrinkles, acne, discoloration, dryness, and open pores. Don’t even start with pre-mature skin aging! That’s a total nightmare!

IMG_20170707_203052-01.jpeg

Now, I’ve recently tried another skin line that I consider to be heaven-sent! Angel Skin is a new soap brand that caters to giving your skin the angelic treatment it deserves. Their products feel really mild on the skin, leaving it moisturized and refreshed!

They also come in different variants to give us the more identified results we want!

My ClearLift Treatment  Experience in Facets and Figures

I have been fortunate enough to try various skin treatments from different clinics, and what excited me more about ClearLift Treatment is that, I don’t know anything about it!

I haven’t heard of it, or know someone who actually tried so it roused my curiosity even more.

Based on my research, ClearLift Treatment is a collagen-inducing and skin resurfacing procedure that uses a laser to allow the skin to look more youthful and fairer. This is perfect for anti-aging, and helps a lot in reducing eye puffiness, wrinkles, and dark circles under the eyes.

I am 28, who always sleeps very late at night, and definitely not getting any younger; so I guess I am one of those people who would extremely benefit from this age-defying approach.

I arrived in Facets and Figures Facial and Slimming Spa, and was greeted warmly by one of their staff.

I was briefed that they will be using a laser to help plump my skin to naturally produce collagen. I was wary that this will cause blisters because I am the keloidal-type. Goodie, I was assured that this was non-invasive, and my skin has nothing to worry about.

You can see how my skin needs a lot of aid it can get. ;P

My face was prepped carefully, and my eyes were covered with opaque goggles to protect them from the laser.

Clearlift was systematically done from my chin to cheeks to my nose, then eyes, then lastly towards my forehead. The air above my face smelled very mettalic, although it is something that you shouldn’t worry about.

You might just feel a bit claustrophobic knowing that your eyes are closed, and some weird device is sweeping your face non-stop.

I was a bit sneezy with the smell so I ask my beauty specialist to stop in between the procedure, so I can attend to my nose. Haha 😀

The procedure took about an hour, and the best thing about is that results can already be seen even on the first session!

They recommend at least 6 sessions of ClearLift Treatment would be best to actually show the tantamount difference!

But as you can see, the dark circles and puffiness of my eyes decreased! Yay! And the best part is there are no redness and no downtime! You can quickly return to your skincare and makeup routine the next day! 😀

I highly recommend Clearlift Treatment to all workaholics, and career-driven merfriends out there!

The stress of daily life can be much more terrible, if not prevented or controlled. Aside from the natural way of aging, poor health habits and lack of exercise, improper skin care can result in a catalyzed skin loss of luster and moisture.

So do yourself a favor, and go to Facets and Figures Facial and Simming Spa to get the skin rejuvenation you deserve!

Visit them today at the 2nd Floor of The Rock Lifestyle Hub, Holy Spirit Drive corner De Leon Street, Isidora Hills Subdivision, Quezon City.

Versaheel on Tribe at Net 25

I got a call a week before that Tribe of Net 25 is interested to feature me and Versaheel on their show. I was shookt!

Things have been really wonderful for me ever since I appeared in News5 of TV5 and Pambansang Almusal of Net 25.

I got a lot of messages and inquiries. The attention was something I was hopeful, but not expecting.

I mean, who am I anyway. I’m just a girl who loves shoes very much.

IMG_20170914_120043

Anyway, I was frantic to find the perfect look for this interview since this is going to be shown on primetime. Plus, I was given some days to prepare.

IMG_20170914_124104IMG_20170914_130104IMG_20170914_125103

Ms. Leyah Ortiz of Beauty Talks by Leyah was my hair and makeup artist that day. She was wonderful! It was the first time we worked together, and I was really swept-away on how she made me look like a mermaid.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I mean, look at the hair! 😀

The shoot locations were set to be at our house, at the factory and Shoe Museum.

The crew of Tribe went to our residence at around 2PM. It was overwhelming honestly. Before I knew it, they started filming the shoes and took the liberty to set the lights and the cameras.

IMG_20170914_150126IMG_20170914_143036IMG_20170914_144004

I was quite nervous at first because I don’t want to pain the crew with a lot of takes. I had to muster all the confidence and spontaneity in me, to do away with unnecessary cuts and second takes.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

The lights added more drama to the whole set up but wasn’t helpful enough in keeping me fresh. My face was sweating with all that heat! Hehe 😀

Our next location was the factory. I was excited to go there because it is going to be my first time to see the new collection too. Some were already formed, while others still needed more work. The patterns were beautiful as well! 😀

I still can’t believe these shoes are going to Tokyo next month! 🙂

You don’t know how much I want to share these new designs with you merfriends, but I guess we all have to wait after the fashion show! 🙂

My collaboration with Marco Not Polo is launching my shoe designing career to greater heights, and I am so humbled by the trust of Marco Not Polo and the opportunity given to me by Tribe.

We weren’t able to go to the shoe museum anymore, well maybe on the next Versaheel TV feature? Haha 🙂

IMG_20170914_161656IMG_20170914_161749

Catch everything on September 24, Sunday in Tribe at Net 25 at 5PM! 😀

See youuuuuuuu! ❤

5 Things a Blogger Thinks When It Rains

Aside from singing “rain, rain go away, come again another..” I don’t even want to finish it, and make it come back another day.

Living in Marikina, rain has been such a commonplace that “baha” is part of the community vocabulary, and everyone just knows how to prepare.

I remember waking up with my Mom putting our things heights above their original places because she knows that the flood is one tricky b*tch. Oops. Sorry.

But again, aside from singing it, I can’t help but wonder and think about a lot of things when it rains. Especially now that I have some time on my hands; which I struggle to juggle wholeheartedly, as a shoe designer, public speaker, and a content creator both for the blog and vlog.

Pondering if there are also others who think the same way? Probably yes, probably not.

Here they are:

IMG_20170519_175219

  1. More time to catch on backlogs! Yay!

I think fellow bloggers agree! Haha 😀 Finally some time to create those posts, and mind you, it takes a lot to create! Haha Let alone find inspiration! I have loads on my list right now, so time to fix my blog calendar! 😀

  1. Oh my, I have to cancel on the event!

It happened this morning actually! I have to go to an event in BGC today but had to cancel because hello, baha sa tapat ng bahay namin! :O

Well look on the brighter side, we can use today to make other productive things!

IMG_20170904_112424

  1. Mr. Sun, where are you? I need natural light for my flatlays!

I don’t have those fancy gadgets yet for my photography, so I really rely on a natural light when taking product photos, especially those I will use for Instagram. So yeah, re-schedule! And better wake up around 10am or else our images will be loaded with shadows! 😛

  1. I hope the typhoon won’t cut my signal!

Yes, praying so hard it won’t! The posts need to be out there, and the line is long! 😀

  1. This bed-weather is making me sleepy to blog!

And the main caveat in this – is the weather. It’s just soooo conducive for relaxation and taking a break from all the hustles of work. So you may have to put up a fight from your bed, and stay seated on your work-desk! 😀

One more thought, and I think the most important of them all is to “Stay safe and dry!” I hope and pray the typhoon will stop and pass soon, so we can all celebrate our happy mornings and beautiful days again!

Shopping online has been a vice since college, and I think there can be no remedy – let alone get my consent. 🙂

How can you stop, when all the things that you want and need are just one click away? The convenience is the total deal breaker on this! Plus, you can use Paypal or your magic cards!

*If you know what I mean! 😉 wink! wink!

I have been wanting to shop and discover amazing new finds in the mall, but I can’t seem to find the time. I have been juggling a fair few things, and a trip to a store can be considered a miracle already!

Good thing, Beauty MNL houses all of these and lets me read about product specifics and score big discounts right in the comforts of my home!

Beauty MNL

I was handpicked to give the site a test run,  so my happy finger tips got astray, and found themselves ordering what was supposed to be a 3-4 item filled-shopping cart, but ended stacking more. Please don’t judge me!

I just love how easy it is to navigate their site. Everything is so organized, and this helped me find the items I need as swift as possible. I also love how they accept PayPal and credit cards for payment.

To my surprise, I got my beauty package the next day! Considering there was a long weekend ahead! Big thumbs up for that! 😀
